Description

PKA Cα, cAMP-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit alpha, is involved in regulating cellular functions as metabolism, ion transport, and gene transcription. Free catalytic subunits of PKA can phosphorylate a wide variety of intracellular target proteins, such as NF-γB, NFAT5, CREB, GSK3α, etc.  Mutation of the PKA Cα in mice leads to growth retardation and sperm dysfunction.  Anti-PKA Cα autoantibodies are biomarkers for cancer diagnostic.

Synonym  cAMP-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit alpha isoform 1; MGC102831; MGC48865 and PKACA.

Formulation and Storage Suppplied in 20 mM Tris-Cl (pH 8.0), 20% Glycerol, 100 mM KCl, 1 mM DTT and 0.2 mM EDTA. This Product is stable at -70°C for at least 6 months from the date of receipt. For optimal storage, aliquot into smaller quantities after centrifugation and store at recommended temperature. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Application PKA C alpha is active and can be used in kinase assay. It is also a good biomarker for cancer diagnosis. For research use only.
