GST-RPB8
GST-RPB8
- Species: Human
- Expression: Host E.coli
- Tag: GST-tag
- Purity: 95%
- Molecular Weight: 43 kDa.
- Gene Accession Number: NM_006232.
The RPB8 subunit is present in all three types of eukaryotic RNA polymerases and is highly conserved during evolution. It is an essential subunit required for the transcription of nuclear genes. Rpb8 interacts with the largest subunit Rpb1, and with Rpb3 and Rpb11, two smaller subunits (1, 2, 3). hRPB8 interacts with single-stranded DNA nonspecifically (5).
When DNA is damaged in cells, the breast and ovarian tumor suppressor BRCA1 ubiquitinates RPB8, which may relate with the BRCA1-dependent cell survival (4).
Source:
GST-RPB8 is isolated from a strain of E. coli that contains the coding sequence for POLR2H (NM_006232, 1 - 150 amino acid) full-length recombinant protein with GST under the control of a T7 promoter.
Applications:
GST-RPB8 can be used to study protein-protein interaction assays (4, 5). For Research Use Only.
Quality Control:
The purified protein is greater than 95% homogeneous based on SDS-PAGE analysis.
Unit Definition:
1 unit equals 1 nanogram of purified protein. 100 units (ng) are sufficient for a protein-protein interaction assay.
Reagents Supplied:
1x dilution buffer A: 20 mM Tris-Cl (pH 8.0), 20% Glycerol, 100 mM KCl, 1 mM DTT and 0.2 mM EDTA
